I work with my ears first and foremost, guided by how I perceive music and sound along with my experience from listening. Understanding what a finished record needs to sound like and how to take it there is what I focus on.
I pick my crafting tools carefully with a ‘Less is more’ mindset. Each piece of gear must enhance the music-listening experience or remove a problem. Some tools I choose for more creative sculpting while others are for removing undesired distractions from your music. My main objective with tools is to have a consistently high-quality result that brings more creativity out of me without adding distraction.
I work in a finely tuned room, phase and time aligned, so I hear your music correctly.
I mainly work with analog gear, with some digital finishing touch-ups.
